Generally the process takes about 7-9 months, although other factors must be accounted for such as permitting, weather, and material availability.

How do I start the building process?

You can start by finding a reliable and trustworthy contractor such as Hana Lima Builders. Once a contractor is finalized, bring in a set of plans & ideas!

What’s the design process if I don’t have plans?

Not a problem! We can sit down with you and show you previous builds, as well as a basic floor plan to create YOUR own custom home.

Permitting, how long will I have to wait?

Hawai’i County permitting process can be anywhere from 3-5 months depending on reviewing and revisions if any apply.

What is bonding? Do I need it?

Also known as construction bonds are put into place  to ensure the bond holder will fulfill the terms of the contract. Lending institutions require bonding in order to build the home.
